AMFT#164202 exp 6/30/27Hi! My name is Virene Marroquin Nuno, and I am a graduate of the MFT/PCC dual track program at Notre Dame de Namur University. I was born in Michigan and moved to California when I was 11 years old. I also carry my Latin heritage close to my heart and, sí, hablo español!
I know that starting therapy can feel intimidating, awkward, or even a little scary. You might not know where to start, what to say, or even exactly what you are feeling, and that is completely okay. My goal is to create a space where you can show up exactly as you are. No judgment, no pressure to have the “right” words, and no expectation that you have everything figured out.
I currently work as a school based therapist in the Redwood City School District, supporting children, teens, and families as they navigate life’s challenges. I believe that therapy works best when you genuinely feel comfortable with your therapist. My approach is warm, down to earth, and collaborative. Therapy can include meaningful conversations and difficult emotions, but there is also room for laughter, creativity, and simply being human.
I like to think of healing as planting a seed. At first, growth might feel small or even impossible to see. But every time you show up for yourself, set a boundary, understand an emotion, challenge an old pattern, or choose to try again, you are watering that seed. With time, patience, and support, those small changes can grow into something beautiful.
Whether you are feeling anxious, overwhelmed, stuck, struggling in your relationships, going through a major life change, or simply trying to understand yourself better, you do not have to have everything figured out before coming to therapy. We can start exactly where you are and work together from there.
You deserve a space where you can be heard, supported, and understood. I would love to walk alongside you as you grow, heal, and create a life that feels more like your own."
