Registered Associate Marriage & Family Therapist
AMFT #149165 Exp 08/31/2026
I am a Registered Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT) with a Master's degree in Clinical Psychology from Pepperdine University.
I have had the privilege and pleasure of working as a bilingual therapist (Spanish) with teenagers for the last couple of years in a high school setting. I have a deep appreciation for young people in this age group and the various challenges they face at school, at home, socially, and around social media. I worry about the academic and social pressures kids are under these days and its impact on their happiness and well-being.
My clinical approach is grounded in being a compassionate, nonjudgmental presence while integrating different theories with a particular focus on trauma-informed, cognitive-based, and strengths-based therapy. I encourage my clients to embrace their uniqueness, strengths/struggles, and feelings in therapy.
My hope, goal and promise is to provide a safe, nonjudgemental, and calming space for my clients to share, process, and heal from their difficult feelings and experiences, become better aware of and communicate their needs, manage their anxiety, sadness, and learn and practice how to take better care of themselves while finding hope and inspiration in their particular life challenges and experiences.
Outside of my work as a therapist, I am the mother of five children, ages 14-22, and a Lutheran pastor (My religious faith is deeply rooted in grace and love for all people no matter their race, sexuality, or religion) I enjoy spending time with my family, reading, exercising, and relaxing with my little dog Winnie.
