Hi! Hola! My name is Heidi Rivas, and I am a bilingual, first-generation Mexican American trainee currently pursuing my LMFT/LPCC degree at Notre Dame de Namur University. Before transitioning into mental health, I spent several years working in Early Childhood Education, primarily with children ages four and under. While I loved that work, I've been eager to expand my experience across different age groups, and I'm excited to begin this next chapter in a school setting while continuing to grow as a clinician.
My goal is to create a welcoming space where every client feels safe being themselves and knows they have someone who will truly listen and support them through their mental health journey.
As someone from the Latino community, I'm especially passionate about making conversations around mental health feel more approachable, and about helping break down the stigma that can make it hard to ask for support.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family, exploring new places, and trying new foods, especially discovering new coffee and matcha spots!.
