Cynthia is a Registered Associate Marriage and Family Therapist. Her journey as a mental health provider began with earning her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology with a minor in Sociology, completed at the University of Texas at El Paso in 2008. After receiving her Bachelor’s Degree, Cynthia dedicated herself to serving the diverse communities in San Mateo County through a variety of services such as; residential counselor at a residential program for adolescents, home-visiting parent education and support services for families with children 0 to 5 years of age, as well as school-based case management and support services for high school students.

Cynthia expanded her passion for psychology with graduate school, having received her Master’s Degree in Counseling from Palo Alto University in 2023. She has primarily worked with adolescents and adults. As a current school based therapist at One Life, Cynthia has provided mental health counseling services to children K-8th grade.

Cynthia is first generation American and is a fluent Spanish and English speaker. She strives to create a warm and inviting environment where clients feel heard and understood. She believes that each client is the expert in their own lived experience and aims to provide guidance in their journey. Her use of humor and curiosity around her client's interests helps to foster a strong and trusting therapeutic relationship.

In her free time you can find her spending time out in nature, attending mindfulness meditation retreats, and at local farmer's markets.
