Marriage & Family Therapist Trainee
My name is Ashley Sheehy and I am currently attending Notre Dame de Namur working towards my Masters of Science in Clinical Psychology. In addition, I am working towards licensure in Marriage and Family Therapy (LMFT), and Clinical Counseling (LPCC). For my undergraduate degree, I attended Montana State University in Bozeman, MT, where I received a Bachelors of Science in Microbiology and Cell Biology. Beginning this Fall, I will be working at Henry Ford Elementary School in Redwood City for the 2024-2025 school year! Throughout my many years of work and volunteer experience, I have provided services to children and adults of all age ranges. I am so excited to learn and create a welcoming environment for all individuals seeking assistance in their journey of self growth!
Prior to becoming a Trainee at One Life Counseling Center, I have experience working in the medical field, as well as a broad range of customer service jobs. One common aspect I have become familiar with from working in different fields is the introduction to people of different backgrounds. I have always found it fascinating to dive into someone's history and understand where they are on their current journey. As a trainee, my goal is to assist people, specifically children, become comfortable with who they are, as well as provide goals to better their opportunity for growth in the future. I plan to work with clients through the use of different modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Compassion Focused Therapy.
Outside of work and school, I love to go on roadtrips, workout, find new coffee shops, and take my dog out on hikes!
