There is no one way to experience therapy, and I enjoy getting to know each client and what they are hoping to get from our time together. I work with children, adolescents, adults, and families. Over the past several years, I’ve worked with people navigating many different experiences and challenges, and I value taking the time to understand what each person needs from therapy. I value being able to build a relationship with my clients where we can be honest about what is going well, what is difficult, and what you may want to work on. I want therapy to feel like a place where you can be yourself, ask questions, and talk openly about the things that may be harder to share with others.
As a Spanish-speaking therapist, I’m able to provide therapy in both English and Spanish. I understand that language, culture, family, and our communities can all shape how we experience and make sense of what we’re going through. I want clients to feel comfortable bringing those parts of themselves into therapy and to know that they do not have to explain or separate those experiences from the rest of who they are. Being able to communicate in the language that feels most comfortable to you is something I value, and I welcome the opportunity to work with clients and families in either English or Spanish. My approach is flexible and tailored to the person I’m working with. Some clients may need space to process and make sense of what they’re going through, while others may want more practical tools and support with a specific challenge. Often, therapy involves both. My goal is to work alongside you to figure out what is most helpful and to build on the strengths and skills you already have. I want our sessions to feel like a place where we can talk honestly about what is happening while also working toward things that feel meaningful to you.
I draw from a range of therapeutic approaches and adapt my work based on each client’s needs and goals. My practice is grounded in trauma-informed, strengths-based, and culturally responsive care, while incorporating approaches such as cognitive behavioral therapy, DBT, psychodynamic therapy, and other skills-based and person-centered interventions. I believe different approaches can be helpful at different times, and I want to find what fits for you rather than relying on one approach with every client.
