Derek is pursuing his MFT/LPCC therapy license as part of the clinical masters degree program at Notre Dame de Namur University (NDNU). He earned a bachelors degree in Psychology and Engineering from Stanford University and an MBA from the University of California at Berkeley Haas School of Business .
He is a former tech marketing and PR executive who has transitioned to a career in mental health to fulfill his passion for psychology, his penchant for kindness and understanding, and his personal life experiences to share with others. He thrives in energizing individuals and groups of people in both work and community endeavors.
He has recent experience in mental health case management and coaching in San Mateo County and San Jose. His One Life trainee placements are with after-school elementary and middle schools students through Peninsula Bridge in San Mateo and the Hoover School in Redwood City.
