I believe that healing takes place through connection, community, and courage, and I'm deeply interested in a collaborative journey with clients that empowers them to identify healing strategies that resonate and uplift. Slow and steady growth - replacing demoralizing narratives with stories of strength and hope - finding mindful moments to observe thoughts and feelings with curiosity...these are some of the mainstays of my therapeutic approach. Not to mention a good dose of laughter, when appropriate.
As an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist, I utilize a person-centered approach that utilizes cultural sensitivity, radical acceptance, and modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. My background in teaching and education continues to motivate me to work with children and teens as well as parents, families, and anyone going through a major life transition or needing extra support and coping strategies.
I hold Master's degrees in teaching and counseling psychology from the University of San Francisco as well as an undergraduate degree in literature/writing from UC San Diego. My fiction writing for children has been published in Cricket Magazine and other publications and remains a major source of passion. I have training in meditation practices as well as emotional support around pregnancy loss, including termination. I believe strongly in reproductive rights and supporting women through all the stages of their reproductive journeys. Outside of work, you'll find me spending time with my two children, my husband, and our community here in the Bay Area.
